Naruto OCs - Ne, Itachi-kun

Description

Art trade with :iconpionochan:.
She asked for her OC Tobuki with Itachi, in his casual clothes. Since she mentionned those two have a sibling relationship, and since I couldn't find another moment in the series' timeline when Itachi could spend time with her, I drew them as children.
Tl;dr: this happens before the Uchiha massacre, Tobuki is a kid of Sasuke's age and Itachi is 12.

It's tea time, and Tobuki is telling Itachi a secret - probably something embarrassing about Sasuke.
Itachi looks tired because his job and his role as a "link" between his clan and the village stress him out. Spending time with children helps him relax, because they don't expect anything difficult from him - he's a naturally patient person, anyway.

The background kind of sucks, because I'm not used to drawing backgrounds. >__>U

Reference used:
(For the background) japanese room by :iconstickfishies-stock:.
(More as an inspiration source than as a reference proper, but hey, there's no such thing as too much credit ~)

Tools:
Fire Alpaca (lineart), GIMP (sketch & colors).

Tobuki is :iconpionochan:'s.
Naruto's universe and Itachi belong to Masashi Kishimoto.
Fanart mine; please don't remove my name, repost on other art sites, or use as an avatar/icon/whatever. Thank you.

So it's Uchiha Itachi you're involving to your art. Well, I am Uchiha Itachi's die hard fan and he's my crush since I was 10 years old until now (19 years old) so I won't let any errors occur to one of his artworks. I hope that this critique will help you improve.
So let's take a critique-peek to your OC first:
(1) There's something wrong with your OC's body structure. The shoulders are leaned backwards. I suggest you to study How to Make Proper Anime Body Structures.
(2) I guess you also forgot to add details to her hands such as nails and its side chin. For a professional artwork, details are very important to express their feelings accurately.
(3) I don't know if your OC's physical characteristics is to have large ears. If it is not intended to have large ears, you don't have to show unnecessary details for her ears.
(4) Add depth and observe proper shadowing for her clothes.
(5) Is she standing or kneeling? I guess she's kneeling. To show that she's whispering to Itachi, try to make your OC closer to Itachi. By her body language, you can say now that what're whispering is really a secret.

For Uchiha Itachi:
(1) I guess you do not prefer to draw like Masashi Kishimoto. Nice work you have your own style. *clap clap clap*
(2) Add wrinkles to his pants. Good work for having wrinkles to his clothes.
(3) I guess I have read a lot about Itachi's personality but in your art, it seems that I am confused about his reaction. I suggest to make face/ reaction like he's shocked or something. He can also smile with eyes closed like he already know what you're saying.

Last but not the least, the background and the frontground:
(1) Your style is a Japanese traditional house. Observe that Japanese houses do not let their interiors undesigned with colorful paintings/okami? and elegant wallpapers. So I suggest to add more details about it to let the viewers see that it's really a Japanese house.
(2) Good thing about the subjects' shadows.
(3) Add more details in the utensils. It's not just a plain white bowl but you can also state some simple designs like a blue line around the mouth of the white bowl.
(4) I also suggest to make a different color for your kettle and cups? It's very monotonous to see that your brown table have the same color with the keetle and other utensils.

I hope this would help you to have a positive development and enhancement to your art skills. Good luck. <3 Overall, I love your art. Even I don't have the skills in coloring but I reall have skills in making critiques about the colors.
